[The Ryde properties were again put for sale by Mr Robins at Garaways Coffee House, Change Alley, Cornhill on 26 June 1828. The auction details are very similar.] Particulars & Condition of Sale of an Elegant and Distinguished Main Villa with pleasure grounds, Yacht-house, Baths & Offices &c situate at Ryde on the Isle of Wight; also, a residence and offices adjoining: for sale by auction, At the Mart, Opposite the Bank of England, On Tuesday 13th June 1826 at Twelve O’clock in Two Lots. T.H.H. Cauty, Auctioneer & Land Agent, 80 Pall Mall, London. Lot One […] Villa known as Buckingham Cottage, substantially erected of stone with a slate roof. […] The villa is seated on a spacious lawn immediately overlooking the Pier, commanding an interrupted view of the Ocean from Spithead and Portsmouth Harbour to Calshott Castle and nearly to Southampton; and contains on the Upper Floor a range of excellent Sleeping, Dressing and Morning Rooms, principally overlooking the Ocean, a spacious principal Sleeping Room at the western extremity, handsomely fitted with Balcony, &c and several secondary chambers. On the principal floor, a light cheerful Hall of Entrance, communicating both front and rear, and extending upwards of 40 Feet. A spacious Eating Room, about 30 feet by 19, fitted with Windows opening to Lawn, stained walls and marble chimney piece. A spacious and elegant Dining Room, 41 feet by 15, with French windows opening to and overlooking the Lawn and Ocean; stained walls and marble chimney piece.
