Stowe was the main residence for the first and second Dukes. It is now an independent school and the gardens are now managed by the National Trust. It is not intended to present a full description of Stowe here; the notes reflect my particular interests and accidental discoveries that may be of interest to others. Topics
Huntington DocumentationAn extensive correspondence about Stowe and its occupants is preserved at the Huntington Library. This is gradually being transcribed and catalogued by the National Trust and the Stowe House Preservation Trust. My work concerns the people of Stowe rather than the buildings and gardens, but I will post relevent documents when I find them:
