Date: 1827-29? HEH STG Correspondence Box 364. Note by Anna Eliza Brydges. Date: Huntington Library suggests c. 1830. There are three options for its date: 1827-29 when Duke is abroad; 1836, after Broadway’s death on 26 February; 14 April 1832, Anna Eliza Brydges refers to a note to Jones in HEH STG Correspondence Box 74 (40). "Mr Jones to live in Lamport House, to have the Garden & Orchard & the Close immediately at the back of the House, with Wood for living as at present & @ £10 per ann for Salary & Board Wages. Mr Jones to be the Clerk of the Works over the Buckingham property & superintend all the Building Repairs in the Gardens & the House. The Care of the Timber Yard delivering out such Wood as is necessary for the Joiner & Upholsterers. The Delivery of the Iron to the Blacksmith & the control of the Mechanics out of the House. Taylor now paid as Bailiff to act under Mr Jones in that capacity."
