James Hamilton Stanhope |
1788-1825. Son of the 3rd Earl Stanhope. Wobbly Grenvillite MP.
In June 1817, Stanhope sent Richard Temple a statement of his political philosophy, declaring he would resign if Buckingham disagreed. Conflict continued in 1818, when Stanhope attended a meeting called by Lord Liverpool to discuss the marriages and finances of the Royal Dukes. Buckingham was outraged and told Stanhope he would not support his re-election. Stanhope committed suicide in 1825. SourcesSack; Maximilian Genealogy |
