Anne Lucy Poulett (Lady Nugent)

Eldest daughter of Lt-Gen. Hon. Vere Poulett (1761-1812) of Addington, Bucks, and Anne Lucy Becher.

  • Born 1788 at Sunbury on Thames
  • Married George Grenville on 6 September 1813 at Addington, Buckinghamshire
  • No surviving children. Two were lost in childbirth or shortly after birth. 
  • Died 18 April 1848

She once penned Charles O'Conor a Valentine's poem:

This Fourteenth day, dear Doctor, leave your books,
And let your studies be fair ladies looks,
Your Valentine I am, & always ready,
To drink or play at drafts & yet keep steady.
