Mary Nugent. A portrait of Richard by his mother was sold at the 1848 Stowe sale.

139. Earl Temple, when a boy. H. Smith, Esq. 1 15 0. The late Duke of Buckingham, when Earl Temple; painted by his mother.

This was purchased by Henry Smith, Solicitor, of Maids Moreton. He purchased several items for the family and their supporters at the sale.

1796

Artist unknown. Two gold enamelled snuff-boxes were sold at the 1848 Stowe Sale.

Lots 457 & 458. Each formerly had miniatures on the lid; "they were very beautiful likenesses of the late Duke and Duchess of Buckingham, at the time of their marriage in 1796." The portraits were removed by the Marquis of Chandos prior to the sale.

1806 Henry Watkins Williams Wynne. From a sketch of several Grenvilles in the Grenville Room at Stowe. Now at Stowe.
1820 Whittaker. Richard robed for the coronation of George IV.

George Saunders. Sold in the 1848 Stowe sale.

141. The late Duke of Buckingham (engraving p.p.). D.P. King, Esq. 5 10 0. A proof impression of a private plate, engraved by R. Cooper, from a miniature by George Saunders.

The image left is credited to Saunders & Adock (presumably the engraver)

Artist unknown. From the Private Diary.

In this picture, Richard emulates his father's pose in a portrait by John Jackson. This suggests it was commissioned shortly after Richard received the Garter in 1820.

1828

Raimondo Trentanova, 1828. A bust carved in Rome and sold in the 1848 Stowe sale.

757. Richard Duke of Buckingham, by Trentanova, on dove marble pedestal. A. Robarts, Esq. Sholebroke Lodge, Towcester. 11 11 0. This bust was sculptured when the late Duke of Buckingham was in Rome in 1828. Mr. Robarts, we believe, purchased it for the present Duke.

The bust was presented to Stowe by the Mayor and Corporation of Buckingham in 1983.

1802 Sir William Beechey, 1802. Anna Eliza is age 22 or 23. The portrait hangs in the North Hall at Stowe.
? A portrait by Hopner is mentioned in Gentleman's Magazine 1836
  Unknown artist (is this the Hopner portrait?).
